This past weekend, we went to Shreveport-Bossier City as a quick getaway weekend. I love going to Bossier City because it is just so relaxing and worry-free. I know you are probably thinking “what is in Bossier?” The answer is basically nothing. However, every time I go I have an amazing time and it’s so peaceful. The main attractions are Casinos and the outlets at Louisiana Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is not huge, but it is a decent size with some good stores. Having the boardwalk next to the river makes it a great tranquil atmosphere. Every time we visit, people are just so nice and they make us feel so welcome. Plus we are considered “regulars” in a few casinos and bars and they go above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Our favorite Casinos/Hotels are Horseshoe and Margaritaville.
Saturday night, we went to the newly Haunted House attaction called NecroManor. When we first arrived, I noticed that it was a regular building and it just looked very basic on the outside. So basic, that I had second thoughts about going in there. It definitely did not look like other Haunted Houses I have visited in the past. I am not going to lie, I completely underestimated the attraction by judging from the outside. I guess I was just being superficial. The attraction was amazing, fun, but not very long. They renovated the inside and made it look so realistic and horrific. You would have never imagined the inside of the building would look like that by just looking at the outside. The actors were great and people were really scared. On top of that, they had an elevator simulator that was the best thing I have ever experienced in a haunted house. The whole experience was super fun and I should not have judged the location.
I have been researching and reading reviews about different restaurants in the Shreveport area. According to my research, Herby K's was the best restaurant in town. Let me just start by telling you that Herby K's is literally a hole in the wall restaurant. It is such a small place, it is very weird looking in the inside and horrible looking on the outside. When you walk in, it literally looks like a 1930's restaurant. Which by the way, it totally is! It opened in 1936. However, the food was so delicious that I cannot wait to go back. They are known for their Famous Shrimp Buster entree. The shrimps were sooooo big that they looked like they were on steroids. But they were absolutely exquisite. The crawfish etouffee was the best I have ever tasted. I also had the soft shell crab poyboy which was delicious as well. I have never had a poyboy with crab, so it was something different to eat.

Note: The hotel we stayed at was the Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino. The room was spectacular and the hotel was right next to the boardwalk. Awesome location! Also, not only did we get complimentary rooms, we also got complimentary buffets for both days. Fun getaway.
