This past weekend I took a trip to Miami. I love Miami because it is such a relaxing and beautiful city. It has amazing beaches, great atmosphere, delicious food and of course great drinks! I am half Cuban so I truly enjoy going to Miami for some authentic Cuban food as well as some mojitos.
One of my favorite streets in Miami is Espanola Way. The atmosphere is great and they offer different types of Latin cuisine. The restaurant I always go to in Espanola Way is Habana 1957. Their food is absolutely outstanding but their mojitos, not so much. I do not recommend their mojitos as they are not very tasty. I ordered Churrasco a la Cubana which is a thin steak with moros and maduros. Moros is white rice with black beans (cooked together) and maduros is sweet plantain. This entrée was amazing. I also got to taste the Havana 1957 Sandwich which was great as well.

The following day I went parasailing on South Beach. This is my second time parasailing and I absolutely love this adventure. The staff there is very friendly and their services are fantastic. The best part of parasailing is at the end, when they dip you into the water. If you have parasailing in your bucket list I recommend it! It is extremely fun!
After parasailing, I went to Ocean Drive for some food and drinks. When you are walking down Ocean Drive, all of the restaurants’ host approach you for you to dine there. However, I would recommend seeing who has better deals (since ocean drive restaurants are not cheap). Some restaurants give you 2x1 drinks or 20% off your meal. There are some restaurants that do not offer any kind of deals. The restaurant I went to was The Carlyle Café. It was absolutely amazing!!!! The service was great and the waiter, Claudia, was extremely kind, helpful and I loved her. The food was superb and the drinks were amazing and HUGE. On top of that, Claudia gave me 2 extra shots to add to my mojito. The paella was heaven and the platter had calamari, wings, chicken tenders and coconut shrimp. Simply amazing! If you are ever on Ocean Drive, make sure to visit Claudia. She will take care of you!
I love going to Bayside Marketplace because it is like an outside mall with entertainment. The vibe and atmosphere there is just absolutely amazing. I went to Let’s make a Daiquiri to watch some football and the drinks were delicious. I also tried the dulce de leche ice cream from Haagen Dazs and it was a foodgasm.
I tried two different restaurants on Lincoln Road. One of the restaurants was Cuban and the other one was Italian. The Cuban restaurant is called YUCA and the Italian restaurant is called Sibilla. At Yuca I had their strawberry mojito, empanadas, vaca frita and I tried their mozzarella burger. The food was great. At Sibilla I had white wine fettuccini with seafood and I also tried their shrimp penne pasta. Can I say delicious? YUM!
Ocean Drive also had a fashion show for 24 hours non stop! I thought that was pretty crazy. Do people even who up at 6am? Anyways, I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty cool. Below are a few extra pictures of my trip! If you've been to Miami share your favorite thing to do!
