This past weekend I took a quick trip to Baltimore, Colora and DC. A quick fact about me: I used to live in Maryland because I attended boarding school. Yes, boarding school and it was the BEST THING EVER. Click here to learn about why boarding school is the best. Therefore, I absolutely love Maryland and it has a special place in my heart. With that being said, it was great to be back!
My first stop was Inner Harbor. I love Inner Harbor because it is beautiful, it has awesome places and a beautiful history! On my first day I went to Hard Rock Café. They had a great atmosphere and a live band. On top of that, it had great service! I’ve been challenging myself to eat as healthy as possible when traveling. Although it doesn’t always work! I mean who doesn’t want to travel and eat good food? At Hard Rock I had Salmon and tried a smoke chicken barbecue sandwich. Can I say exquisite? After dinner, I went to Power Plant. Power & Plant is an entertainment destination with dining and bars. It is a great place to go. However, on Thursday it was absolutely dead! I mean dead!!! I was not expecting that. Come on, it is basically the weekend!

The following day I went to DC for the day. I wanted to go visit the national mall, the white house, museums and the capitol. It is always nice to have an educational trip. I walked about 12 miles and my feet were killing me!!! But overall, I really enjoyed all the monuments, the memorials and the experience. The museum I went to was the National Air and Space Museum. It was a very cool, interesting and popular destination.
While in DC I had lunch at Matchbox. I must say it was a very great restaurant, with excellent food but with horrible service and rude employees. Which I guess makes your experience bad overall. I was just excited the food was delicious. I had a lamb sandwich with feta cheese and a similar sauce to tzatziki. I also tried the meatball pizza which was very good.
For Sunday Funday I decided to try a place that has great brunch. I’ve heard great things about Miss Shirley’s Café so I thought I’d give it a try. It was the best decision I’ve made! The wait was pretty long but it was well worth it. My only complaint would be that the mojito tasted like juice. I could not taste any liquor at all and I did not even finish it. I ordered an egg white omelet with goat cheese, feta cheese, mushrooms and pineapples. I’ve never had pineapples in my eggs and it was amazing! Who would have thought that pineapple inside an omelet would taste so good? I also tried their coconut stuffed French toast and it was to die for. It tasted so good that I did not even care to count calories. It was literally heaven on earth. The fried chicken was cooked and seasoned perfect, it was amazing. Miss Shirley’s has an amazing brunch & I can’t wait to go back.
Lastly, I was also went to Fells point, Dick’s last resort, Fudgery and Federal Hill park. There is so much to in Baltimore and I had so much fun! If I was you, I would go visit.
